Product Introduction:

The 840(S33400) alloy is an austenitic stainless steel containing titanium and aluminum that contains enough chromium to form and maintain chromium oxide on a sufficient scale to protect it under high temperature conditions and is more resistant to high temperatures than traditional chrome-nickel stainless steels such as 304; The higher nickel content gives it better oxidation resistance than standard type 18-8 stainless, and its oxidation resistance is no less than that of higher grade alloys used at temperatures up to 1900 degrees Fahrenheit (1038 degrees Celsius). Therefore, 840(S33400) alloy is the ideal material for the manufacture of electric heat pipes, automotive emission control systems and other high-temperature products.



INCOLOY 840 alloy has high oxidation resistance, high temperature chloride resistant austenitic stainless steel, suitable for the outer tube of advanced electric heat pipe. Titanium element is added to the composition, which enhances the high temperature stability of the material and strengthens the resistance to grain boundary corrosion. The material has good high temperature strength within 600℃, and the strength is significantly reduced in the range of 600-1000℃. The aluminum element improves the toughness, wear resistance and grain refinement of steel at low temperature. It has good resistance to stress corrosion in chloride ion solution.



Typical working condition: Oxidizing environment below 600℃



Scope of application:

Due to its formability, weldability, corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance, 840 alloy is a common electric heat pipe material used in the manufacture of electric heat pipes, heat exchangers, equipment heaters, industrial heating furnaces and other equipment, and is also commonly used in automotive exhaust systems. Boiler, electric heat pipe, heat treatment parts, etc.
